Standardization of rules and methods for the measurement of fluid flow in closed conduits, including terminology and definitions; rules for construction, installation, and conditions under which measurements are to be made; rules for collection, evaluation, and interpretation of measurement data, including errors.

All meetings are open to the public. The MFC Subcommittees usually meet in conjunction with the MFC Standards Committee. The MFC Committees are comprised of experts in the field of fluid flow measurement. Members of the MFC Standards Committee are classified in the following interest classes: Producer/Manufactuer, Laboratory, Regulatory, Services, General Interest, and User. The Committee works on writing new ASME American National Standards, and revising current ASME MFC Standards. The MFC Standards Committee operates under procedures of the American National Standards Institute.
